Hi, I’m Kathie

You’re not alone in this—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

I’m not just someone who supports neurodivergent families. I am one.

My son Levi is 16, and our journey has looked very different from what I once imagined motherhood would be.

From the very beginning, things were hard.

He struggled to gain weight as a baby. He didn’t walk until he was 3. And because of childhood apraxia, he didn’t speak until he was around 5.

What followed were years of therapies—occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy—and learning how to support a child whose needs didn’t fit into the typical path.

And in the middle of all of that… I was trying to figure it out alone.

Kathie and Levi

Our reality, even now

Levi is considered high functioning, but that doesn’t mean life is easy.

We still navigate challenges every single day:

  • Regulating body temperature
  • Sensory sensitivities to noise, touch, textures, and food
  • Emotional awareness and regulation
  • Hygiene and everyday independence

At 16, he often experiences the world emotionally more like a 10-year-old.

And as a parent, that comes with a weight that most people don’t fully see or understand.

But here’s what people don’t always see

Levi is one of the most empathetic people I know.

He notices when others are hurting. He wants to help. He cares deeply.

He has an incredible mind for computers, coding, and video games—far beyond his years.

And his love for his faith and for Jesus is something that is truly grounding and beautiful.

He is not defined by his challenges. He is so much more than them.

Why I created NeuroFamily Co

For years, I found myself constantly searching.

Googling everything. Trying to piece together answers. Trying to understand what actually works.

And so often… feeling like people just didn’t get it.

I kept thinking:

There has to be an easier way.
There has to be a path.
There has to be someone who can walk alongside families through this.

Because what I needed most wasn’t just information.

I needed support. I needed someone who understood. I needed a place where I could ask questions, vent, and not feel judged.

This is what I’ve built for you

NeuroFamily Co was created from lived experience—not a textbook.

I may not have a formal degree in this field, but I have something just as valuable:

  • 15+ years of real-life experience
  • Deep research
  • Trial and error
  • A heart that truly understands what this life looks like behind the scenes

This space is here to help make things feel a little less overwhelming.

To give you guidance. To give you clarity. To give you support.

And just as important…

I want to help you remember who you are.

Because somewhere between therapies, appointments, and daily challenges, it’s easy to lose yourself in being a caregiver.

You are more than that.

You deserve support. You deserve to breathe. You deserve to find joy—even in the hard seasons.

And you deserve to enjoy the good moments, even when things aren’t perfect.

You are not alone here

I see you. I’ve been there. And I built this space so you don’t have to walk it alone.
